The Rendleman Oolite Bed (North, 1969, p. 30-31).
Named for Rendleman School, 1 mile east of the type section.
The type section of the Rendleman Oolite Bed is part of the Walnut Grove type section, an outcrop near the head of a small tributary of Clear Creek (SE SE SW 22, 11 S-2W), where it is 1.5 feet thick and occurs 4 feet above the base of the Walnut Grove Member.
The Rendleman Oolite Bed is a persistent, distinctive bed. The ooliths, which are poorly sorted and have a maximum diameter of 1 mm, occur in a fine-grained limestone matrix.
